Whitfield Announces Federal Grants to Hopkins, Christian, and Marshall County Fire Departments

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01) is pleased to announce four separate Operations and Safety grants to area fire departments, totaling nearly $200,000 combined.  These awards, from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, will provide funds that can be used for professional training, wellness and fitness programs equipment, personal protective equipment, modifications to facilities, and supplies that support firefighting and non-affiliated EMS operations and safety.

 

  • Richland Volunteer Fire Department in Madisonville will receive $100,533.
  • Grapevine Community Volunteer Fire Department in Madisonville will receive $4,959.
  • Northwest Volunteer Fire Department in Crofton will receive $61,500.
  • West Marshall Fire Department in Benton will receive $21,372.

 

“I am pleased to see these area fire departments receive these important federal grants,” Whitfield said.  “These resources will enhance service during emergency conditions within these communities and assist the neighboring regions as well.”
