On July 5, 2016 at 2:11 pm, deputies responded to the Exit 11 on ramp to I-24 for an injury accident. Investigation showed that 70 year old Eric Allen of Paducah, KY was entering the on ramp from John Puryear, riding a 2012 Harley Davidson. For unknown reasons, Allen failed to see the vehicle in front of him yielding and struck him in the rear of the vehicle. 18 year old Ethan Stelter of Benton, KY was operating a 2004 Kia Rio. Stelter was yielding at the Y of the on ramp due to another vehicle also entering the on ramp at the same time. Reidland-Farley Fire Department and Mercy EMS responded to the scene for assist with injuries. Allen was transported to an area hospital for non-incapacitating injuries. Four Rivers Harley Davidson responded to pick up the motorcycle. Traffic was slowed for approximately 45 minutes.
