Gas prices continue to spike throughout the Lakes Area

In Kentucky, gas prices are averaging $2.29 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.31 a gallon.

Including the change in gas prices in Kentucky during the past week, prices yesterday were 45.1 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 4.0 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has decreased 1.3 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 47.2 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

In the Lakes Area, prices last Monday could be found for $1.92 a gallon, but seven days later, the price jolted by 20 cents a gallon to $2.12 or higher.
