Middle School Track Team brings home four state titles

LOUISVILLE – Four State Champions were crowned from the Marshall County Middle School track team at Saturday’s KTCCCA Middle School State Championships at the University of Louisville. Tori McCracken and Dusty Bass both took the high jump state title, Keagin Brooks won the javelin and the boy’s 4 x 800 team of Isaiah Kirby, Samuel Lanham, Mason Cosner and Cade Flatt won a state title.

Second place in the state went to Sydney Temple in the pole vault, and three 3rd place finishes were earned by the girl’s 4 x 100 relay team – Abby Hurst, Sydney Reed, Layne Pea and Haley Swift, Cade Flatt in the 800 meters and Keagin Brooks in the discus.

Fifteen top 10 performances were turned in by the middle school team on their way to a 4th place finish by the girls and 6th place by the boys. Rockcastle County won the girl’s team title, second went to North Oldham and 3rd to Bryan Station out of 57 teams.

Jessie Clark took the boy’s team title, Paducah placed second and Beaumont third among 56 teams competing.
