Kentucky education department to host virtual town hall

The Kentucky Department of Education plans to host a virtual town hall meeting next week to ask Kentuckians how they define school success, the state education commissioner announced Thursday.

The town hall meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Central time on the department of education’s media portal, and the education department says it will also be available on demand.

Kentucky Education Commissioner Stephen Pruitt previously held a series of 11 in-person town hall meetings across the state this spring. In Thursday’s announcement, Pruitt said the department understands that not everyone was able to attend those meetings, and the department will be asking the same questions it asked at the in-person meetings during the online event.

Participants can submit their feedback via email.

The department says the media portal for the town hall will be at this link. The main page of the department of education media portal is here. The email address where participants can send feedback is KyEdListens@education.ky.gov.
