Marshall County Sheriff’s Report May 31st, 2016

On Sunday May 29th Deputy Josh Anderson observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign on Moors Camp Hwy. Deputy Anderson conducted a traffic stop and upon contact a strong smell of alcohol was present. The subject admitted to drinking earlier in the night. Daniel S. Shea 41, of Gilbertsville, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle and Disregarding Stop Sign.

 

On Monday May 30th Deputy Jason Ivey received a complaint of a boat operating erratically on KY Lake. Deputy Ivey made contact with the described boat with two subjects present on the boat. The male subject had a strong odor of alcohol present. After Deputy Ivey placed handcuffs on, the subject started to come at Deputy Ivey. The subject would not comply with orders given to him by Deputy Ivey. Once they arrived to Moors Marina to have Sgt. Eddie McGuire transport, the subject was cussing and yelling in front of the employees and customers. Benjamin S. Jackson 26, of Paducah, was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place and Disorderly Conduct 2nd.

 

On Monday May 30th Deputy Josh Anderson was dispatched to the intersection of Moors Camp Hwy and Tatumsville Hwy in reference to a one vehicle collision. Upon arrival, Deputy Anderson spoke with the driver of the vehicle and he stated that he ran off the roadway attempting to make a right hand turn. A strong smell of alcohol was present and the subject admitted to drinking approximately four beers earlier in the night. Dustin A. Vaal 26, of Hardin, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence.

 

On Sunday May 29th at 12:05 p.m. Deputy Cory Curtner responded to Wadesboro Road North in reference to an accident involving a motorcycle. It appeared that Tim Graham 54, of Benton, was traveling southbound on Wadesboro Road North approaching Oak Level Road when he lost control of the motorcycle and left the roadway. The motorcycle traveled through a yard and struck a rock embankment around a culvert. When EMS arrived it was decided to transport Graham by helicopter to Vanderbilt Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

On Tuesday May 31st Deputy Nathan Maxlow was sitting stationary running radar in the work zone at the Purchase Parkway/ I-24 Interchange. Deputy Maxlow observed a vehicle traveling north at a high rate of speed that was confirmed by radar. Deputy Maxlow activated his lights and siren and the vehicle then began to flee. The subject continued traveling north on Industrial Parkway passing several vehicles in no passing zones, over hill crests and curves. The subject failed to stop at several stop signs and traffic lights while in pursuit. During the pursuit Deputy Maxlow’s patrol vehicle sustained some damage. Keith A. Wallace 30, of Murray, was arrested and charged with Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance, Speeding 24 MPH over limit (Work Zone), Disregarding Stop Sign, Disregarding Traffic Control Device-Traffic Light, Reckless Driving, Improper Passing, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Driving on DUI Suspended.
