The Marshall County High School Archery Team competed May 13th at the 2016 NASP Nationals in Louisville at the Expo Center. The team shot 91% with a score of 3291/3600 and finished ranked 77th out of 232 high school teams.
In just its second year of competition, the team qualified for the 2016 NASP World Tournament to be held at the Myrtle Beach Sports Complex June 24-26 but will not be competing at the event.
Teams from all over the United States competed in Louisville with 1st going to Hartland High School in Michigan out of 232 high school teams with a score of 3437 (tens: 226). Kentucky’s best finish came from Madison Central High School who finished 2nd with a score of 3437 (tens: 225). Trigg County High School finished 4th with 3231 (tens: 213).
First place individual honors went to David Machart from Anamosa High School in Iowa with a nearly perfect score of 299 out of 300 and 29 tens. The best individual Kentucky finish was 10th by Chance Wayne from Anderson County High School with 296.
The Middle School Division was won by Benton Middle School from Louisiana and the Elementary Division was won by White Hall Elementary in Kentucky.
