Marshall County Baseball hosts 11th Annual Dreammaker Classic

dreammakerDRAFFENVILLE – The 11th annual Dreammaker Classic event takes place on Saturday at the Marshall County High School baseball field. The event is an opportunity for the MCHS baseball team to give back to their community by volunteering their talents on and off the field.

Players work the event with all proceeds from the gate and concessions going to a designated charity. This year’s charity is Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Over the past 10 years, the Dreammaker Classic has raised $11,175 for various local charities

Throughout the 10 year event, several teams have participated but two teams, Caldwell County and Graves County, have participated each year.

The MCHS Dugout Club has provided monetary support to offset the cost of umpires which allow them to give all of the profits to the chosen charity.

The Marshall County Baseball Program said, “We are very excited to host this event each year and are fortunate to have the MCHS Dugout Club help us sponsor this event and raise funds for Apraxia Awareness. Our players have an opportunity to provide monetary help for a charity while also allowing them to see the importance of community service. It has turned into such a great day of baseball and fun. We hope we have a big crowed to see some great baseball teams and raise money for research and treatment.”
