On 05/06/2016 at 8;52 A.M., the McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to a single vehicle injury accident onUS68/Benton Road. Investigation showed Charles Don Adams, 69 Years of Age, of Benton, KY. Was traveling east on US68. Mr. Adams was operating a Maroon 2013 Lincoln MKX. When Mr. Adams swerved to miss a deer his vehicle exited the roadway traveling down a steep hillside. The vehicle traveled through a fence striking a fire hydrant before hitting a tree head on. Mr. Adams was transported to a local hospital for treatment of incapacitating injuries. The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Reidland Fire, Mercy Regional and Jasons Collison.
