Expansion coming to Marshall County Hospital

The Marshall County Hospital announced its plans for the construction of an additional medical office building.  The third office building will be located behind the other two, on hospital campus.  Plans are for Dr. Marty Fulbright, orthopedic surgeon,  to be moved to the new building with x-ray capabilities housed in the building,  for patient convenience and improved patient flow. The building will also have extra office space as the need arises for additional physicians.  The project will be open for bids soon.

When Murray Calloway County Hospital announced the closing of Dr. John Tveite’s practice recently, in Benton, an effort to purchase their existing building and to keep Dr. Tveite in Marshall County was made by MCH but due to contractual agreements and other factors,  that was not possible.

From Dr. Tveite’s practice, MCH was able to hire Rhonda Darnell, APRN, family practice.  Ms. Darnell has joined the Marshall County Surgical & Medical Group but will not be making appointments untilMay 31.  She joins Dr. Marty Fulbright, Orthopedic Surgeon; Dr. Julia Lyles & Dr. Christina Brown, Internal Medicine; Diane Kolenich, APRN and Sharon Hodges, APRN, both family practice.  The group welcomes walk in patients and the new hours are 8AM-6PM Monday through Thursday and8AM-4PM on Friday.  Appointments with any of the providers may be made by calling 270.527.2411.
