Marshals lead 4th District following 7-0 win over Murray

DRAFFENVILLE – St. Mary scored 3 runs in the 1st and 4 in the 7th to beat the Marshals 7-0 on Friday on 11 hits. Marshall’s hits came from Cole Griggs, Cody Clark, Lucas Forsythe and Lance Dyke. St. Mary was led by Sam Bell who was 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI’s. John MacCauley picked up the win, going all 7 innings and striking out 6.


The Marshals rebounded from the St. Mary loss nicely with a 7-0 district win over Murray Saturday. J.C. Goins pitched a 7-inning no-hitter at Murray, striking out 5 batters.

Marshall County took a 4-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning on an RBI single by Dalton Andersson. Andersson then scored on an error, Lance Dyke scored on a bases loaded walk and Jackson Beal scored on a wild pitch.

In the top of the 6th, the Marshals scored 3 more runs on an RBI singles by Justice Beal, Andersson and Dyke.


On Monday, the Marshals beat Livingston Central on 5 hits with the win going to Cameron Ives, pitching 7 innings and striking out 9.

Cody Clark blasted a home run in the 1st inning for a 1-0 lead and the Marshals scored 3 more on hits by Goins, Ives and Justice Beal.

The 11-10 Marshals were scheduled to play McCracken County at home Tuesday, but the game was cancelled due to potential bad weather.
