Kentucky Western Waterland shutting it’s doors

Dear Members of KWW,

It is with a heavy heart but a necessary fact that I inform you of the winding down of Kentucky’s Western Waterland business.  With the loss of matching funds and the slow but sure decrease in membership the past several years, the Board of Directors along with the Executive Board voted by majority to close the visitor center and wind down business.

The good news is, the map, website, Facebook and rack card services are all continuing right now thanks to the volunteers of the Executive Board.

The Rack Card service is still being maintained by Lonnie Tabor.  No changes in deliveries have been made. The only difference is there is no one at the KWW Visitor center to receive your brochures for the Rack Card Service, so the Trigg Co., Lyon Co., Marshall Co., Grand Rivers and Paducah Tourist Commissions have been kind enough to allow our Rack Card customers to drop ONE box of brochures at any of these commission offices to be picked up by Lonnie.  Please call me and let me know which office you plan to drop off a box so I can contact Lonnie and let him know he has a pick up.  All current Rack Card customers will receive a schedule of distribution as well as a list of all the locations soon.  There are a few spots available right now if any of you are interested in placing your business brochure in the 28 rack card locations.  Please call me for details.

The Arts and Crafts Festival will continue with the Grand Rivers Chamber of Commerce/Tourist Commission leading the way.  Please offer to volunteer your time to help continue to keep the festival a success. They helped make it a success for our organization and I would like to think we’d do the same for them.

I believe I can speak for the Executive Board when I say, it has been a pleasure to serve all of you and our hope is the projects being continued today by these volunteers will continue to be supported by our KWW friends.

Thank you.

Most Sincerely,
