Marshals drop district game 11-1 to Murray

DRAFFENVILLE – Led by senior Tanner Foster who was 4 for 5 at the plate with a double, home run and 3 RBI’s, Murray beat the Marshals Tuesday 11-1 on 16 hits behind 7 innings on the mound by senior Chase Nelson who struck out 8 and allowed 4 hits.

Murray led 2-0 after 3 innings adding 4 more runs to their total in the top of the 4th on a bases loaded RBI single by Casey Wilson, ground out by Ethan Black that scored Cam Kelley, Victor Hudspeth scored on an error and an RBI single from Will Shelton for a 6-0 lead.

Kelly scored on an error in the 5th and a 2-run homer by Foster put the Tigers up 9-0. The Marshals only run came in the 6th on an RBI single by Cole Griggs that scored Dalton Andersson.

The Tigers have just 2 losses this season, both coming over Spring Break at the Cal Ripken Experience at Myrtle Beach to two Kentucky teams, Boyd County and Raceland.

The Marshals and Tigers will play again Thursday in Murray at 5:00.
