SHERMAN GASS, 73 of Benton KY, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Benton, KY.
Mr. Gass was a retired coal miner and served in the United States Navy from 1962-1968 on the USS Hornett.
He is survived by one son, Robert Gass,of Pensacola Florida; one daughter, Amanda Fledderman of Pensacola, Florida; a step son, Scott Embry of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Kegel of Benton, KY and Pauline Champion of Paducah, KY; one brother, Gene Gass of Henderson, KY; and six grandchildren, Emily Fledderman, Hannah Fledderman, Taylor Gass, Kenneth Embry, Michael Embry and Charlene Embry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sherman Gass and Daisy Frances (Hampton) Gass; three brothers, James Lewis Gass, Franklin Gass and Herman Gass; and one sister, Gracie Davis.
Inurnment at a later date will be in the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
