Benton man arrested on drug charges

A Benton man faces drug charges after his arrest on Thursday.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s office, detectives obtained a search warrant for a home on Main Street in Benton. Upon execution of the search warrant, detectives seized over 4 ½ pounds of marijuana, vacuum sealing equipment, over $500 in cash and several prescription pills.

Detectives arrested Robert Vance for trafficking marijuana over eight ounces but less than five pounds, one count of possession of controlled substance first degree and two counts of possession of controlled substance third degree.

Vance was lodged in the Marshall County Jail.

Detectives said the marijuana has a street value of over $8000. According to police, additional charges and arrests are possible pending further investigation.
