Gun and drug charges assessed to Marshall County residents

On Tuesday February 2nd Deputy Dennis Lewis was dispatched to Hall Dr in reference to a male subject firing a rifle in the direction of a house. The victim stated that he was standing outside near the road and he saw the subject shoot in his direction. One bullet ricocheted off the ground and hit a building on his side of the road. The subject stated that he had shot the rifle but did not know it was illegal to do so. Marcus R. Brennan 24, of Calvert City, was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.

On Tuesday February 2nd Deputy Jeff Daniel responded to US Hwy 68 W in reference to an accident with injuries. Upon arrival Deputy Daniel made contact with the driver a detected a strong smell of alcohol. The subject admitted that she had consumed alcohol prior to driving. The subject was transported to Lourdes Hospital to be treated for injuries. Carla D. Davis 53, of Benton, was cited to court for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence due to her injuries.

Finally, a Marshall County man faces multiple charges after police say he fled during a traffic stop. A Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop Monday near Briensburg. The passenger in the vehicle gave the deputy a name he believed to be false. After confronting him with the accusation, the passenger reportedly ran from the vehicle. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was detained after having a medical emergency that was tended to by Marshall County EMS. He was identified as 36-year-old Jeremy Scott, and was charged with possession of methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence, fleeing or evading police and giving an officer a false name after digital scales, a razor blade and several bags of meth were found under his seat.
