Howard Johnson

howard johnsonHoward Mason Johnson, age 95 of Benton, KY died on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at
Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, Kentucky. He was retired from
Tappan Manufacturing Company where he worked as a production worker. He also worked
for the Marshall County Refuse Department and was a guard for BF Goodrich. He was a
member of Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1937 and served as an elder for
40 years. He was an avid UK and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Mr. Johnson was a World War II Veteran, 
honorably serving his country in the United States Navy.

Born Thursday, July 1, 1920 in Marshall County, KY, he was the son of the late
Hallie Johnson and the late Lola (Jones) Johnson. 

Surviving are son, Wayne M. Johnson, wife Sandra of Gilbertsville, KY, daughter,
Edna Collins, of Benton, KY, sister, Mary Lynn Redden of Murray, KY; 6
grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren ;and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eva Estelle (Bogard) Johnson; son,
Timothy Johnson, brother, son-in-law Reece Collins, James Johnson, sisters, Marjorie Hopkins, Thelma Burkeen,
and Velma Baker.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Collier
Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Scott Wagner,
Brian Hayes, and Jeff Collins officiating. 

Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Hardin, KY.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
January 26, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
