marcellas kitchen 002Early-bird tickets for the 2016 Empty Bowl Project Dinner and Silent Auction are now on sale. Purchase your ticket before January 31 to be entered into a drawing for a Get-Away to Grand Rivers.

The prize package includes dinner for two at Patti’s Restaurant, two tickets to the Badgett Playhouse, and one night’s lodging at Patti’s Inn & Suites. Tickets are $15 per person, and may be purchased at Marcella’s Kitchen, 242 Griggstown Road, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm, at Funky Monkey Pottery Company, 395 US Hwy 68 West, in Draffenville, or by contacting 2016emptybowlproject@gmail.com.

The drawing is a new part of the Empty Bowl Project. “We wanted to try something different this year,” says Jay Staten, this year’s project coordinator. Patti’s Restaurant, Patti’s Inn & Suites, and Grand Rivers Variety came on board to offer this fun get-away. The drawing will be held February 1 at Marcella’s Kitchen. You need not be present to win.

“This prize package is perfect for a Valentine’s, date night, anniversary, or birthday get-away,” says Staten. “And it is a real win-win situation.”

The ticket price is tax-deductible because all proceeds go directly to Marcella’s Kitchen. Ticket holders will be treated to a great dinner and silent auction on April 23rd at Marshall County High School, where they will sample food from the best restaurants, caterers, and church groups of Marshall County. And the winner of the drawing will get a fun-filled outing.

The Empty Bowl Project is the annual fundraiser for Marcella’s Kitchen. The community kitchen was established in May of 2011 and serves those in need in Marshall County, Monday through Friday from 11 am to 1 pm.

“Our goal is to feed the hungry in our community,” states Marcella Perkins, founder of the kitchen. For more information on the 2016 Empty Bowl Project, contact Jay Staten at 2016emptybowlproject@gmail.com.
