Marshall County Sheriff’s Office – January 19th report

sheriffOn Saturday January 16th Deputy Josh Anderson observed a vehicle traveling on US Hwy 68 E swerving. Deputy Anderson observed the vehicle run off the side of the roadway as it turned onto Billy Henson Road. Upon contact with the subject it appeared that the subject was under the influence of some type. The field sobriety test was conducted in which there were many factors indicating to be under the influence. Deputy Anderson located a marijuana roach on the center console. Gilbert W. Howard 34, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and Possession of Marijuana.

On Monday January 18th Deputy Jason Lane was dispatched in reference to many calls into dispatch reporting a vehicle driving erratically on Moors Camp Rd. Deputy Lane observed the vehicle pull onto Briensburg Road traveling down the center line at approximately 20 MPH. Upon contact of the subject Deputy Lane observed a strong odor of alcohol present in the vehicle. There were open beer containers in the center console and one in the back seat. Cheryl R. Fleet 48, of Calvert City, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Possession of an Open Alcohol Container in Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving.
