Joint investigation leads to the arrest of two for drug offenses

drugarrestA joint investigation by McCracken and Marshall County Drug Detectives led to the arrest of two men on numerous drug offenses Sunday afternoon. The investigation eventually led to a large Methamphetamine seizure.

On 01/10/2016 at approximately 1:47pm detectives conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck occupied by John Doublin (driver) and Terry Kelley (passenger) on Alben Barkley Drive near I-24. During the course of the stop Deputy Steve Croft and K-9 Pepo arrived and conducted a free air search around the vehicle. K-9 Pepo indicated to a narcotic odor coming from truck.

Detectives searched the truck and located a PVC container that was found contain eight (8) individual bags of Crystal
Methamphetamine weighing 34 grams, an Amphetamine pill and a syringe. Both men were arrested.

Detectives seized $3,408 of US currency from the men that is believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.

A subsequent investigation led to detectives to search a storage unit on North Friendship Road in McCracken County where they located an additional 725 grams of Crystal methamphetamine, a digital scale and two guns.

The investigation continued as detectives searched a motel room at 5120 Hinkleville Road in Paducah where they seized additional drug paraphernalia and an additional $10,231 in suspected drug monies.

Detectives seized a total of 759 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $75,900 and a total of $13,639 in US Currency.

John D. Doublin 36, of Tubbs Road of Benton KY was arrested and charged with Disregarding a traffic control device, no rear view mirror, 1st degree trafficking in controlled substance- Methamphetamine, possession of a 2nd degree controlled substance-Amphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Terry Kelley Jr 49, of N Friendship Road Paducah KY was arrested and charged with Firearm enhanced 1st degree trafficking in controlled substance-Methamphetamine, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two
counts) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
