On Tuesday December 29th Deputy Jeff Daniel observed a male subject fitting the description of a shoplifter that had fled Wal-Mart running from CFSB towards the post office. Deputy Daniel ordered the subject to stop in which he did not and then was observed jumping into the bushes from of the Benton Post Office. Deputy Daniel retrieved the male subject out of the bushes and placed him into custody. Benton Police Department Officer William Treadway took control of the subject where he charged him with shoplifting. Deputy Daniel charged Jeffrey L. Mobley 53, of Springville, TN, with Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree.
