PADUCAH – At approximately 3:55am Monday morning, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a single vehicle accident on Clinton Road near Ora Lane.
Investigation revealed that Colby Stearns, 20 years old, of Calvert City, was operating a 2007 Dodge Caliber, north-bound on Clinton Road when he swerved to miss an animal in the roadway. Stearns’ vehicle struck a utility pole, causing the pole to break. Stearns was not injured in the collision.
A section of Clinton Road between Heather Lane and Goad Road will be closed for approximately 4-5 hours while Paducah Power Systems replaces the damaged pole.
Traffic is being rerouted through the back parking lot of The Lone Oak First Baptist Church. Drivers are reminded to watch their speed while traveling through the parking lot, and to be mindful of preschool services being held at the church.
