DRAFFENVILLE – The student-operated Star Bank sponsored by CFSB held their Grand Opening ceremony Thursday at Marshall County High School. Under the direction of Instructor/Sponsor Rebecca Phelps, the students operate the bank throughout the school year, learning about the banking process as well as the entire student body who are able to take out loans and even start a savings account. The bank is located in the Commons Area.
“Twenty-five years ago there was a dream for a bank to be inside this high school to run and used by students”, Star Bank President Cameron Miller said. Thurman said Star Bank is a place where students learn cooperation, leadership, responsibility and honesty.
