Yetter to Face Arson Charges After False Reports Made to Deputies

REIDLAND, KY – A Reidland man has been charged with arson along with multiple counts of falsely reporting an incident to McCracken County Deputies.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department and the Reidland Fire Department responded to a report of arson at a garage located on Epperson Road in Redland on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, 33-year-old Jeremiah Yetter told deputies that when he and his wife returned home, they discovered several household items stored in a garage had been piled up in the middle of the floor and set on fire. Authorities say the garage was so small and closed up, the fire went out before consuming the garage.

Further investigation revealed that Yetter was allegedly responsible for setting the fire. The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office says Yetter has contacted them on two recent occasions making false reports.

Yetter reported on October 14, 2015, that someone came onto his property during the early morning hours and threw a cinder block through the front windshield of his vehicle and flattened the tires.

On October 19, 2015, He called again reporting that two individuals wearing trench coats and carrying machetes, came out of the woods behind his home and then ran off. Deputies determined that Yetter had placed a machete and a pair of gloves at the edge of the woodline for authorities to find.

Jeremiah G. Yetter of Epperson Road has two previous counts for reporting false incidents that are pending. He has additionally been charged with second degree arson and falsely reporting an incident.
