Marshall County Sheriff’s Report – October 5

sheriffOn Thursday October 1st, Captain Brett Edwards was dispatched to Griggstown Road in reference to a single vehicle collision. The operator of the vehicle had a strong odor of alcohol.  The subject was so impaired that he got in the wrong vehicle to look for his information. John Todd Castleberry 49, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence.

On Friday October 2nd, Sgt. Eddie McGuire was traveling southbound on Main Street behind a vehicle that struck the center line multiple times. Upon contact with the subject, Sgt. McGuire observed a strong odor of alcohol. The field sobriety test was given in which there were many indicators that the subject was under the influence. Robert Vance 53, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence.

For the week of September 28th through October 5th the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following: 8 Traffic Accidents, 3 DUI’s, 3 Motorist Assists, 6 Burglary/Theft reports, 5 Animal Complaints, 1 Disturbance, 8 Warrants Served, 1 Civil Served, 28 Have a Deputy Call and 28 Traffic Stops contributing to a call volume of 197 calls responded to.
