UPDATE: Missing Elderly Woman Found Safe in Nashville

An elderly Calloway County woman who authorities have been searching for since Sunday has been located in Nashville and is reportedly safe, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say 81-year-old Maxine Jones went missing around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Her family told police that she had left home and was headed to church.

The sheriff’s department in Nashville confirmed that Jones was taken to a local hospital where she will stay until her family arrives. A good samaritan found Jones and contacted authorities.

Authorities Seek Missing Elderly Woman, Need Public’s Help

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 81-year-old Maxine G. Jones.

Jones is described as a white female, about 5 foot-3 inches tall and weighing nearly 160 lbs. She has brown hair and blue eyes. She is said to be wearing a cream colored sweater, brown slacks, brown sandals and carrying a tan purse.

Jones has reportedly been missing since 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 4. She was last spotted leaving the Charley Miller Road area in northern Calloway County and was said to be on her way to church at Brooks Chapel in Dexter. She was driving a Blue 2002 Ford Escape with the license plate: KY-003CXX.

She has been diagnosed with dementia and diabetes. Authorities say she may be disoriented and confused as a result of her medical conditions.
