Lady Marshals sweep district games over Murray and Calloway

BENTON – In their last two district games of the season this week, the Lady Marshals volleyball team picked up two wins over Murray and Calloway County. Tuesday against Murray, the Lady Marshals swept the Lady Tigers in three straight games (25-17, 25-17, 25-18) and at Calloway County Thursday won 3-1 (25-15, 25-14, 17-25, 25-20), extending their season record to 16-13.

The Lady Marshals district record is 6-1 with their only loss coming from Christian Fellowship.

Following Fall Break, the Lady Marshals will wrap up their regular season on October 12 at home against Graves County and at Community Christian on October 16th before heading into the 4th District Tournament on Monday, October 19th at Christian Fellowship.

The Lady Marshals went 3-3 in last weekend’s Quad State at the Sportsplex in Paducah. They beat Southwestern 2-1 (18-25, 25-22, 15-12) in their first game on Friday then began their 5-game Saturday with a loss to Greenwood (25-20, 25-11).

In the next four games, they beat CCA 2-1 (25-21, 22-25, 15-12), lost to Christian Academy Louisville 0-2 (25-19, 25-6), lost to McCracken County 0-2 (25-23, 25-10) and finished with a win 2-0 win over Puxico, Mo., (25-18, 25-18).
