IMG_6285It is with great sadness that Marshall County High School reports that Coach Don Bock passed away at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana Wednesday night.  Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they are available.

Don Bock was a baseball coach at Marshall County for 33 years, beginning his career in 1978 as an assistant coach where he served for 14 years. He was named head coach of the Marshals the 1991-1992 season and remained in that position for 19 years.

In 1993, Bock led the Marshals to their first ever regional championship, going on to lose a tough 4-3 game to Warren Central in the semi-state tournament that year. Bock led the 2000 Marshals to another regional championship and were ultimately defeated by eventual state champion Henderson County in the semi-state first round.

In 2008 he was named 1st Region Coach of the Year, leading the Marshals to a 27-5 record and 4th District Championship. That same year he reached his 300th career win mark.

In his 33-year coaching career at Marshall County High School, Coach Bock led the baseball Marshals to three Regional Championships and seven District Championships.

His last team, the 2009 Marshals, won the regional championship beating Henderson County in a best of three series and advanced to the State Tournament where they were defeated in the quarter-finals by eventual state champion Lexington Catholic 2-0.

Coach Bock was inducted into the Marshall County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
