Dolbee and Yates post fastest times at St. Mary Invitational for the Marshals

PADUCAH – Spring Dolbee and Jackson Yates led the way for the Marshall County cross country team at the St. Mary Invitational held at Noble Park on Saturday.

Dolbee finished 8th in 22:37.22 in the 5K race behind University Heights’ Muki Kunnmann who crossed in 1st in 21:07.30. Hadley Pagel posted the second best finish for the girls placing 23rd in 24:31.10 and Valerie Shutt with 30th in 24:59.48. Placing among the top 50 finishers for Marshall County was Bailey Sandlin 40th, Haley Ford 41st and Chloe Kerrick 49th.

Graves County took the win and the Lady Marshals placed 4th in the six team field. Apollo won the boy’s team title with the Marshals taking third out of 10 teams.

Yates placed 8th for the boy’s team in 18:06.28, Kyle McClain crossed in 11th in 18:43.22 and Joseph Reed 22nd in 19:16.58 for the top three Marshall finishes. Marcos Macias of Graves County took the win in 16:38.35. Three more Marshals cracked the top 50 including Cole Wyatt 28th, Matt Ray 32nd and Jacob Hainaut 47th.

In the middle school 4k race, Marshall Middle boy’s took the team title and the girls placed 4th. The boy’s were led by Ethan McCarty taking 3rd in 14:44..16 and Alexia Minter led the girls with 4th in 17:31.30.

Behind Minter, the top three Marshall girls finishes came from Tarryn Story in 9th in 17:50.84 and Jada Driver 23rd in 19:12.29. Rounding out top 50 finishes were Sydney Reed 27th, Larissa Holt 29th and Zoe Short 36th.

Samuel Lanham had the second fastest race for the middle boy’s team placing 5th in 15:19.67 and Mason Cosner took 7th in 15:37.72. Eight more runners placed within the top 50 including Christian Cosner 14th, Thomas McLean 25th, Jackson McMillen 31st, Parker Kerrick 37th, Kiefer Court 29th, Kian Court 40th, Caleb Nichols 44th and Ethan Riley 26th.

The cross country team will host the Marshall County Invitational Saturday, September 26th.
