WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01) voted today in support of H.R. 3134, the Defund Planned Parenthood Act, and H.R. 3504, the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act. Whitfield, a cosponsor of the Defund Planned Parenthood Act, issued the following statement upon passage of both pieces of legislation.
“The recent videos of executives from Planned Parenthood discussing the details of abortion practices and the harvesting and sale of fetal tissue are appalling and horrific. It is clear from these videos that the individuals involved, and the organization they represent, have no regard for innocent life.
“I believe all life is sacred and that we have a moral obligation to save the unborn and defend them against harm. The bills passed by the House today will defund the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its affiliates while Congress investigates their activities and strengthen protections for abortion survivors.” Whitfield said.
