DRAFFENVILLE – A rollover accident on Purchase Parkway Tuesday evening has claimed the life of a Benton child.
According to a release issued by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Sgt. Eddie McGuire responded to the 46 mile marker of the Purchase Parkway in reference to an accident with injuries at approximately 5:15p.m.
According to reports, Devon G. Collins, 20, of Benton, was traveling southbound on the Purchase Parkway when his vehicle left the roadway on the left side. Collins over-corrected, losing control of the vehicle, causing it to flip several times in the median. The vehicle came to final rest upside down in the median.
Jaiden C. Morris, 5, of Benton, was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Tennessee Medical Examiners later called to confirm that Morris had passed away from her injuries.
Collins and another infant passenger were transported to Marshall County Hospital for their injuries.
