Yates and Dolbee lead Marshall County Cross Country at Christian County

HOPKINSVILLE – Jackson Yates and Spring Dolbee turned in the top times for the Marshall County Cross Country teams at Saturday’s Christian County Cross Country Invitational.

Yates crossed in the boy’s 5k race in 6th in a time of 19:09.34 and right behind him in 7th was teammate Kyle McClain in 19:10.97. McCracken County’s Josh Grogan took 1st in 17:33.65.  McCracken County won the overall team title and the Marshall boys took 3rd.

Three more Marshals crossed in the top 25 including Joseph Reed (12th), Jackson Reed (16th) and Cole Wyatt (24th).  Five more 5k finishers for the Marshals came from Jacob Hainaut (27th), Curtis Bradley (41st), Dallyn Turner (53rd), Alex Colburn (68th) and Austin Bolen (85th).

For the girls, Dolbee finished 13th in 24:15.40 for the top finish. Madisonville’s Erika Wallace crossed in first in 21:45.80.
Valerie Shutt also finished in the top 25 in 24th in 26:13.70 followed by Hadley Pagel in 28th in 26:45.40.

Eight more Lady Marshals competed in the meet including Jade Ford (35th), Jordyn Ray (42nd), Breonna Logothetis (56th), Bailey Sandlin (57th), Sarah Knoth (63rd), Alisha Compton (70th), Cora Robinson (78th) and Kourtney Gregory (80th).

McCracken County also took the girl’s team title and the Lady Marshals took 3rd.

Twenty-two Marshall County Middle School girls and boys raced in the 4k event won by Rossview Middle girls and James Madison Middle boys.
The Marshall Middle girls took 3rd and boys 2nd.

Alexia Minter had the best finish for the girl’s team taking 6th in 19:43.50 followed by Tarrin Story in 7th. More girls results came from Larissa Holt (14th), Hope Howard (26th) and Maggie Edwards (29th).

Samuel Lanham’s 3rd place was best for the Marshall Middle boys in 16:24.70. Four more top 25 finishes came from Mason Cosner (7th), Ethan McCarty (11th), Thomas McClain (18th) and Christian Cosner (19th).

Twelve more of the 17 Middle boy’s finishers were Kian Court (35th), Jack Burkeen (41st), Kiefer Court (42nd), Ethan Riley (44th), Caleb Nichols (45th), Eli Jones (51st), Avery Minter (56th), Ben Burkeen (59th), Tyler Treas (62nd), Grady Ward (68th), Nick Willis (71st) and Zach Artis (73rd).
