Lady Marshals win at Graves County 5-1

MAYFIELD – Kayla Travis scored the only first half goal in the Lady Marshals district game at Graves County Tuesday for a 1-0 halftime lead.

Travis scored again eight minutes into the second half on an assist by Camryn Crass for a 2-0 Marshall lead followed by a goal from Crass to put the Lady Marshals up 3-0 with 23 minutes left in the game.

The Lady Eagles avoided the shutout with a goal from Samantha Clymer with 16 minutes to go but that was followed by two goals from Marshall County in the closing minutes, both by Travis for the 5-1 win.

Crass, Pamela Ross and Rachel McWilliams all had assists in the game, Allie Fiske had seven saves, the Lady Marshals out-shot Graves County 16-10 and shots on goal 14-8.

Another district game is on tap at home Thursday when the Lady Marshals and Marshals play a double-header against Calloway County.

Their early season record stands at 3-2-1.
