The first game was close throughout when a kill by Nelson put CFS up 18-16, continuing to maintain at least a two-point lead, going on to stretch the game out to win 25-18.

Game two went to Hickman County, pulling into the lead after CFS lead until a tie game at 15-15, when the Lady Falcons steadily pulled away going on to win 25-20 and tie the match at 1-1.

“I just want them to improve with each game”, Burnett said.

Excited with the years of experience the team now possesses, Burnett said of her young players, “they have a lot of experience even though they’re just in 8th grade.”

Burnett took her team to The Bluegrass Games the first of August where she says they got a lot of good games in with teams on the other end of the state and some games with local teams as well.

The Lady Eagles will host Paducah Tilghman on Thursday with games beginning at 5:00.
