Marshall County golf teams sweep Paducah Tilghman Invitational

PADUCAH – Marshall County’s boys and girls golf teams swept the Paducah Tilghman Invitational Saturday at Paxton Park as well as boy’s medalist and boys and girls runner-up spots.

Quinn Eaton was overall medalist with his even par 71 followed closely by runner-up D.J. Pigg who shot a 1-over 72. Graves County’s Jake Morgan took the third spot in the tournament shooting 74.

The Marshall boys took first with a team total 312, Mayfield was six strokes back in second with 318 and Graves County and Christian County tied for third with 327 in a field of 10 teams.

Joining Eaton and Pigg were Grant Hackney with 83 and Garrett Howell shot 86 to round out the team score.

In a field of five teams, the Marshall girls took first shooting 354 for an 11 shot win over McCracken County with 365 and third went to Murray with 371.

Led by Bailey Tyree’s 73 which gave her second overall, Savannah Howell and Hallie Riley both tied for 10th shooting 90 with a 107 from Kennadi Spraggs.

Payton Carter from Henderson County shot an even par 71 earning medalist honors, Tyree took second and Tilghman’s Teri Doss third with 74.
