“We lost a lot of good players but behind them have been players waiting for their chance”, Head Coach Andrew Pagel said. “It’s a blessing to have a good group of seniors in front of you and hopefully it’s made these guys hungrier.”

The Marshals opened their 2015 season Thursday at Colburn Stadium with a scrimmage against Trigg County. The JV squad won 3-2 and the Varsity fell 3-2, in a game where the coaches send everyone onto the field for a chance to get different looks in different spots.

Coach Pagel said of his team work outs to this point, “I’m enjoying practice, we’re all enjoying practice. The attitude is outstanding. Our worst practice has been a good practice.”

The Marshals JV and Varsity will scrimmage again on August 11th at home against Ballard Memorial then open the season against Paducah Tilghman at home on August 18th, followed by three straight district games against Murray, Mayfield and Graves County.

“We have the mind-set that we are going to have to get better all year-long”, Pagel said. “Our goal is to be a contender at the end of the season.”

Meet the Soccer Marshals and Lady Marshals will be held on Saturday at 6:00 with an Alumni game at 7:15.
