Storms Tuesday night and early Wednesday evening left some minor damage in parts of Marshall County, but forecasts call for sunny, milder weather for the remainder of the week and the weekend.

A large tree was uprooted in Draffenville and limbs were downed in the East Marshall and Cambridge areas, but Emergency Management Director Duane Hawes said there were no serious incidents.

The Marshall County Rescue Squad responded to an incident near the Caldwell-Trigg county line, Hawes said, and recovered the body of a woman whose car was washed away from Blackhawk Road by flood waters that swept a large portion of the road away.

The victim, Nancy Hyde Fox, 61, was the mother of Trigg County Rescue Squad Chief Barry Fox, Hawes said.

Scattered thunderstorms were forecast for early Wednesday evening, clearing later.

The ensuing days will have “much nicer weather than previous days,” according to Beau Dodson’s weather blog, with temperatures in the low 90s and less humidity that in recent days.
