Givens back on the mound, pitching for the first time in over a year

OWENSBORO – Dylan Givens, 2015 Marshall County High School graduate and member of the Marshals baseball team, will continue his baseball career at Southeast Missouri for the Redhawks and has been playing this summer for the Hopkinsville Hoppers, a Summer Collegiate Baseball team in the Ohio Valley League.

Dylan tore his UCL approximately 11 months ago, having a modified Tommy John surgery in St. Louis in August 2014.

Monday, Dylan was called out of the bullpen to start the 4th inning for the Hoppers against the Owensboro Oilers in the first game of a double-header, to pitch for the first time since his surgery.

Dylan pitched four innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs, 1 earned run and struck out two batters while issuing no walks.

The Hopkinsville Hoppers won 7-4 with Dylan getting the win for a record on the mound of 1-0.

Hopkinsville is in fourth place with 9 wins and 17 losses, losing the second game of the double-header with Owensboro 7-2.
