A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans daytime lane restrictions on the US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge at Aurora starting Tuesday, July 7, 2015, and continuing all week.

The US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge will be restricted to one lane starting at approximately 8:00 a.m., CDT, each day this week, to facilitate the pouring of concrete for construction of the new bridge. This lane restriction is expected to be in place for about 9 to 10 hours each day.

Due to the ramping up of work along the bridge project, motorists should be prepared to encounter lane restrictions on the existing bridge almost daily for about the next Month. However, hours may change somewhat due to weather conditions, temperatures, and work requirements.

Concrete trucks are required to park on one lane of the old bridge to deliver concrete to the work site for the new structure.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Delays are possible. However, most delays have been less than 4 minutes. Some longer delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment. Due to the number of trucks delivering materials to the construction site for the new bridge around the clock, motorists should always use caution in this busy work zone.

Motorists should continue to be alert for oversized loads of steel heading to this construction site along US 641 and KY 80 through Marshall and Calloway Counties and from I-24 along KY 453 and The Trace through Land Between The Lakes.
