Jackson Purchase Clay Crushers compete at US Open Trapshooting Championships

SPARTA, IL – The Jackson Purchase Clay Crushers competed in the US Open Trapshooting Championships May 28-31 at the World Shooting and Recreation Complex in Sparta, Illinois competing with over 400 competitors from 16 states.

Drew Wyatt placed 1st on Friday in Handicaps sub junior division with a 97/100.

Nathan Hartsell was runner-up in sub-junior handicaps on Friday with a 96/100. Nathan also won C-class doubles on Friday with a 88/100 and C-class runner-up on Sunday with a 88/100.

Ty Moore was singles C-class runner-up on Friday with a 96/100 and sub-junior division runner-up in the singles championship Saturday after a shoot off. He shot a score of 197/200.

Several team members will be competing this week at the Tennessee State Shoot in Nashville.
The team is coached by Vernon Anderson and Kenny Wyatt and made up of boys from Calloway County, Hickman County and Marshall County.
