BENTON – Following an abrupt resignation a little more than a week ago, an investigation centered on former Marshall County Emergency Management Director Frank Murphy being conducted by the Benton Police Department is headed to the grand jury this week.
While no specific information regarding the nature of the investigation has been released to the public, in a statement regarding Murphy’s resignation, Marshall County Judge Executive Chyrill Miller said details will be forthcoming once the investigation is complete.
Benton Police Chief Tracy Watwood said the Grand Jury meets this Thursday where the case will be presented. McCracken County Commonwealth Attorney Dan Boaz is serving as the special prosecutor in the case.
