Nimmo named USJGT regional Player of the Year

Jay Nimmo, a 6th grader at Benton Middle School, was named Player of the Year in the Boys Rising Stars Division (grades 5th-6th) on the United States Junior Golf Tour (USJGT) for the 2014-15 season.
The USJGT is a regional golf tour based out of Memphis that hosts players from Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky and Alabama.  Jay won 7 of 8 regular season events he played with a stroke average of 76.4 strokes per round.
He also won the season ending Tour Championship played this past weekend at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Bartlett, TN.  Jay shot 75-71 to win by
three strokes.
Nimmo is a member of the Marshall County High School golf team.
