Public meeting to discuss New I-69/I-24 Interchange at Calvert City set for May 14th

parkwayPADUCAH- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have scheduled a public meeting to discuss reconstruction of the I-69/I-24/Julian Carroll-Purchase Pkwy Interchange at Calvert City.

According to KYTC District 1 Chief Engineer Mike McGregor, the meeting will be an informal format with opportunities to view displays and ask questions about the revised design for a full flow interchange to accommodate Interstate 69 Corridor improvements. This revised design maintains the direct connection between the existing Purchase Parkway and U.S. 62 at Calvert City.

This is in response to public comments made prior to our first public meeting on this project,” McGregor said. “We were fortunate that the FHWA was willing to approve a plan to maintain the direct connection to U.S. 62 for Calvert City.”

McGregor urged anyone with an interest in the project to attend the public information meeting on Thursday, May 14th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., CDT, in the Calvert City Civic Center at 1445 5th Avenue in Calvert City. Transportation employees and consultants will have exhibits at the meeting and will share information with the public concerning the Project Design and future Right of Way acquisition impacts. Anyone having an interest in this project is urged to attend. Written statements will be accepted at the meeting.

A comment sheet will be distributed to make it more convenient to provide written comments. Comments also may be submitted by mail before May 28, 2015, to Chris Kuntz, Branch Manager Project Development, KYTC District 1 Office, 5501 Kentucky Dam Rd., Paducah, Kentucky 42003. Anyone who is unable to attend the public meeting may review displays and other materials at the District 1 Office in Paducah during the same time period. Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. local time.

All written comments will become part of the official meeting record. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you have a disability for which the Transportation Cabinet needs to provide accommodations, please contact Chris Kuntz at (270) 898-2431.
