Lady Marshals pick up 6-1 district win over Murray High

MURRAY – Abby Fiessinger doubled in the first inning, hit a single in the second, then homered in the seventh to help lead the Lady Marshals to a 6-1 victory over Murray, going 3-4 at the plate with three RBIs.

Gabi Snow got it done on the mound in seven innings allowing one run on five hits and striking out two.

Lexee Miller joined Fiessinger, going 3-4 at the plate with a double in the second that resulted in an RBI. Miller was a big part of the Lady Marshal’s 4-run second inning that began on a double by Snow followed by Miller’s double to center field that scored courtesy runner MacKenzie Tack.

Singles by Fiessinger and Payton Smothers scored Miller and Chaney Stearns, adding their fourth run of the inning on a double by Kenslie Cross that brought home Fiessinger.

Fiessinger’s solo home run in the seventh capped off the 6-1 win on 13 hits which extends the Lady Marshals season record to 16-5.
Murray’s only score of the game came in the second inning on a Morghen Turley RBI single.

The Lady Marshals will recognize their seniors on Thursday when they host Christian County.
