DRAFFENVILLE – McCracken County led 1-0 over the Lady Marshals after one inning, picking up another run in the 3rd inning on an RBI single by Hannah Ridolfi.
The Lady Marshals took the lead in their 3-run 3rd inning that began on a single by Hailey Harrell and a full count bunt by McKenzie Harper that put two runners on base with no outs.
A sacrifice by Lexee Miller sent the runners on to 2nd and 3rd followed by a single by Aubree Jo Kemp that scored Harrell. With two outs, Abby Fiessinger took a walk and with Harper on 3rd, an overthrow by McCracken’s catcher gave Harper the chance to score to tie the game at 2-2.Kenslie Cross stepped up and hit a 2-out double that brought Fiessinger in for the score from 2nd base for a 3-2 Lady Marshal lead.
Tory Humphrey led off for McCracken in the 4th with a double, brought home for the score and a tie game on a single by Karlie Hatton.With two outs, the Lady Mustangs loaded the bases with Hannah Ridolfi at the plate whose single scored Hatton and Taylor Poindexter to go up 5-3 over the Lady Marshals.
McCracken put the game away in the 5th inning scoring 9 runs before the Lady Marshals ended the on-slaught with a nice double-play to get runners out at 3rd and 1st with the final pop up out caught by catcher Fiessinger.
Audrey Dodd, with the win for the Lady Mustangs, retired the first three Marshall batters to close out the game.
The Lady Marshals fall to 6-3 on the season, McCracken extends their record to 14-3.
