National Lineman Appreciation Day set for April 13

linemanMAYFIELD – On April 13 West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative will celebrate National Lineman Appreciation Day, recognizing the hard working linemen who often face challenging conditions as they work to keep the lights on across rural America.

“Electric linemen are a special breed of people,” said David Smart, WKRECC President & CEO. “They work all hours of the day, often in hazardous conditions, going above and beyond to restore power to their friends and neighbors and our communities. Our linemen, and others across the country, truly deserve this special day of recognition.”

West Kentucky RECC invites members to join the celebration by going to www.wkrecc.com and clicking on the #ThankALineman link to send a note to the linemen and using the hashtag #ThankaLineman in social media posts to show support for the men and women who light our lives. WKRECC will make a donation to the Fallen Linemen Organization, fallenlinemen.org, on behalf of its 26 linemen and host a breakfast in their honor.
