MARSHALL COUNTY – Marshall County Deputy Dan Melone was dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision on I-24 around mile marker 21 eastbound this evening. According to police reports, a semi driver was slowing down for road construction when a van following behind could not stop in time, rear-ending the semi. 
In an attempt to avoid hitting the semi, the driver of the van swerved to his left striking the rear of the semi trailer on its passenger side which peeled back the right side of the van and ripped the door off.
The door had to removed from the semi trailer. Minor injury was reported by the driver of the van.
