MURRAY – Marshall County boys took first and the girls placed second in the 11 team track meet at Murray High. The boy’s first place point total was 111 with McCracken County taking second with 70. The girls scored 101.50 points in the meet to place behind Murray in first with 134.
A few first place finishes were recorded by the team starting with Stephanie Russel’s first place in the 300 meter hurdles, Melissa Ross crossed in first in the 800 meters and the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Lexie Myers, Stephanie Russell, Sydney Goff and Melissa Ross took first.
Russell and Murray’s Grace Campbell’s battle for first in the 300 hurdles came down to Russell getting the win by 1/10th of a second.
Calloway’s Lily Lowe was a three-time first place finisher in the 200 meters, high jump and long jump.
For the boy’s team, first place finishes came from Jacob Carnine in the 800 meters, Casey Gregory in the pole vault, Tyler Hega in the 300 meter hurdles and the 4 x 400 relay team of Jacob Carnine, Collin Gunn, Austin Shackleford and Robert Blankenship.
Marshall County will host the Invitation of the South on Saturday.
