Melissa Ross signs to play soccer for Freed Hardeman

DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County soccer player, Melissa Ross, signed her letter of intent Friday to play for Freed Hardeman. Melissa will play for Head Coach Jason Elliott who led the Lady Lions to a 7-9-1 record in 2014.

Melissa was the captain of the Lady Marshals soccer team and the anchor of the team’s defense her senior year.
She was a three year starter and helped the team win the regional championship her junior and senior seasons. As a junior, Melissa was named to the All-District Team and All-Region 1st Team.

While playing a defensive role her junior and senior seasons, she managed to score 10 goals and make five assists during her high school career.

Melissa is a rare three sport athlete who also excells on the basketball team and track team. Her maturity, personality, decision making ability and work ethic will serve her well as a student athlete at Freed Hardeman University.

Ross said she wanted to attend a Christian school and that Freed Hardeman was a good fit for her.
