The Marshall County Marching Marshal’s put in double duty on Saturday, September 27th, by traveling to two separate contests. The Marshal’s began the day competing in the Caldwell County Festival of Pride against seven bands from Kentucky. Capturing the Grand Championship and winning first place for percussion and color guard, the Marshal’s got the day off to a great start.

The band then traveled to Christian County to compete in the Christian County High School Tournament of Bands Championship. Facing off against ten other high school bands, the Marching Marshall finished first overall in Class AAAAA, and also won best percussion and best color guard in Class AAAAA. Overall, the Marching Marshal’s finished in third place overall behind Madisonville North Hopkins High School and Murray High School. Their percussion section was second overall.

The Marching Marshal’s next performance will be at the home football game on Friday, October 4. After a well-deserved rest over fall break, their next competition will be in the Murray State University Festival of Champions on October 18.

On October 24, the band will be hosting the annual “Night with the Marching Marshal’s” at the high school. From 5-7 PM there will be a chili supper and silent auction. The band will perform for the community at 7:15. There will also be a 40th birthday celebration for the band. All band alumni are encouraged to attend!
